Also I was taught the SADIM permaculture design process. It is a cyclical design process to survey to analysis to design to implement to maintain and back to survey. It doesn’t go Implement Reflect Design and back to Implement.

If we did adopt this as a reflective implementation process. I wonder if we would need to re-formulate the ‘design principles’ in another way so they were reflection tools.

Oh that old chestnut, my old gripe about the principles as something that we are meant to consider rather that a tool that I can really use. And while we are at it… what about the ethics.

After a discussion tonight, I thought more and more about developing them as tools… and maybe even as an infographic.

Another really important part of the discussion today, and the last few days was valuing the work of professionals, and then effect that has on developing the capacity of the grassroots.

I have been part of an long collaborative design, and it has got me thinking more and more about effective collaboration. At moments it feels like we really excel in it, and other things it seems to be really floundering and frustrating. I am sure that is part of the group process, but I am don’t feel like we have established effective roles or process for the design, which is driving me to question my involvement.

Well I think that captures some of the latest frustrations.

Tangerine and eucalyptus grey

Tangerine and eucalyptus grey

Sowing micro greens

Sowing micro greens:
Micro greens

I was really intrigued to see this colour combination last year....

I was really intrigued to see this colour combination last year. Something to keep pondering

Monocle Section D

Monocle Section D:
I have listening to monocle podcasts for a while, and recently susbcribed to section d. I have found the programmes really inspiring. It is thrilling to come across some great material, designers and music.

Bjarke Ingels and Hedonistic Sustainability

Bjarke Ingels and Hedonistic Sustainability:
Mesmerizing brilliance. A vision of the future.

Adjo

Adjo:
Adjo is the Swedish word for goodbye that carries a dismissive tone. I am biding farewell to the bodger in me. Bodge has been with me too long.

engaging in adventures to bid adjo to hedbodge

engaging in adventures to bid adjo to hedbodge
